Hey There

I'm Cyndi Rose, and I help seniors stay safe from the scammers who target us every single day.

Yes, I said "us"—because at 62, I'm a senior too. I understand what it's like to navigate a world that assumes everyone grew up with smartphones and social media. I know the frustration of dealing with technology that seems designed to confuse rather than help. And I definitely know what it's like to get those suspicious phone calls and emails that just don't feel right.

Why I Do This Work

Here's what makes me different: I've spent over 20 years working in IT and cybersecurity. I hold three of the industry's most respected certifications—CISSP, CISA, and CRISC. In plain English, that means I've spent two decades learning exactly how cybercriminals operate, what they're looking for, and how to stop them.

But technical expertise isn't enough. What matters is that I can translate all that complicated security stuff into language that actually makes sense—no jargon, no confusing acronyms, just practical advice you can use right away.

Every year, seniors lose billions of dollars to scams. According to the FBI, it was $3.4 billion in 2023 alone. These aren't isolated incidents—this is an epidemic. And it's not happening because seniors aren't smart enough or careful enough. It's happening because scammers are professionals who know exactly how to manipulate trust, create panic, and exploit our natural instinct to be helpful.

I started SeniorCyberGuide because I believe we deserve better. We deserve to feel confident online, to use technology without fear, and to have someone explain things clearly without making us feel foolish for asking questions.

What I Offer

I work with senior living communities, activity centers, and retirement facilities throughout Florida to provide cybersecurity education that's actually designed for us—not for 25-year-old programmers.

My services include:

  • Monthly webinar programs that keep residents updated on current scam threats

  • Live workshops covering everything from email safety to phone scams to online shopping

  • Online video courses for anyone who wants to learn at their own pace

  • Emergency consultations if you think you've been targeted or scammed

Everything I teach comes with real examples, step-by-step instructions, and a judgment-free approach. Because the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Speaking Engagements

I love speaking to groups because it gives me a chance to have real conversations about the threats we're all facing. I'm available for presentations at senior centers, community organizations, professional conferences, library programs, and family caregiver groups.

My speaking style is friendly and conversational—like talking with a knowledgeable friend who happens to know a lot about cybersecurity. I encourage questions, share real-life stories, and make sure everyone leaves with practical steps they can take immediately.

Popular speaking topics include:

  • "The Top 5 Scams Targeting Seniors Right Now (And How to Avoid Them)" — A current look at the most common threats and the warning signs to watch for

  • "Grandparent Scams, Tech Support Tricks, and Romance Frauds: What Every Senior Needs to Know" — Deep dive into the emotional manipulation tactics scammers use

  • "Protecting Your Parents: A Guide for Adult Children" — Help your family understand the threats without making them feel helpless

  • "Phone Scams Exposed: How to Recognize and Stop Them" — Why caller ID lies, what scammers say, and when to just hang up

  • "Online Safety Without the Overwhelm: Simple Steps for Staying Safe" — Practical protection strategies that don't require becoming a tech expert

Whether you need a 30-minute talk, a 60-minute workshop, or a half-day training session, I'll work with you to create a program that fits your audience's needs and concerns.

Let's Talk

I'm based in Ormond Beach, Florida, and serve communities throughout the state. I also offer virtual presentations for groups anywhere in the country.

Here's how to reach me:

If you're looking for a speaker who understands both the technical side of cybersecurity and what it's really like to be on the receiving end of these scams, let's talk. I'd love to help your community stay safe, informed, and confident online.

Because nobody should lose their savings, their peace of mind, or their trust in people to some criminal on the other end of a phone call.

And we definitely shouldn't have to become computer experts just to check our email safely.
